A modem is a device that enables a computer to transmit data over telephone or cable lines. The word modem is actually a contraction of the words modulator and demodulator (MOdulator/DEModulator).
Ada Lovelace – World’s first computer programmer
Ada Lovelace, the English mathematician and daughter of Lord Byron, was chiefly known for her work on Charles Babbage’s analytical machine, or the computer. She worked on the engine with notes of her own, which are recognized today as the world’s first computer programme.
