K. Asif’s Mughal-e-Azam, premiered in April 2006 in Lahore broke the five-decade long ban on screening of Indian films in Pakistan. The movie is based on the doomed love story of the Mughal prince Salim (Jahangir) and Anarkali, a slave girl in the palace.
