Henry Louis Vivian Derozio lived little more than 21 years and in this short span he made his mark as a great teacher.
Derozio (1809–1831) started the Young Bengal Movement in the first half of the 19th century with a group of courageous young men of Bengal, which included among others Radhanath Sikdar, the man who measured the height of Everest. One of his objectives was to fight against social injustice and superstitions beliefs.
